Message from the Chapter President
Greetings and welcome to the official website of Middletown (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Middletown is one of the seven Delta chapters in the great state of Delaware housed in the historic Eastern region. We were chartered in 2014 by 26 accomplished and dynamic women who saw the need to bring service to the Middletown, Odessa, Townsend and Delaware City areas. As we celebrate our fifth anniversary in 2019, we can truly say that we have brought some change to the MOT area by uplifting families and supporting the community through public service focusing on the commitment to uphold the legacy that our Founders left for us.
I am honored and humbled to serve as the President of this chapter where I can proudly say that our members have served this community well. The major programs of the Sorority are based on the organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrusts, which include Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Some of the programs under these thrusts are the Adopt A Family, Delta Academy, Relay for Life, Health Fair/Blood Drive, March for Babies, World AIDS Day and many other programs. We have also partnered with different organizations within the MOT community, which include the Jean Birch MOT Senior Center, March of Dimes, the Red Cross, and our Daily Bread, just to name a few.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you are a member of our sorority, we welcome you to join our chapter, and if you are a member of our community, we look forward to you joining us on this journey of service by either partnering with us or participating in one of our programs. Please make sure you visit our website often to learn about upcoming events and we look forward to your continued support through the next five years and beyond.
