The Arts and Letters Committee
The National Commission on Arts and Letters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was established in 1973 by Past National President Lillian P. Benbow. The mission of the Middletown (DE) Alumnae Chapter Arts and Letters Committee is directly aligned with that of the National Commission. The Middletown (DE) Alumnae Arts and Letters Committee strives to promote positive images of African Americans and other minorities in the local and surrounding communities through the mediums of music, dance, drama, and poetry. The Committee promotes diverse cultural endeavors and artist presentations through the encouragement of participation in events such as theatre productions, concerts, plays, book clubs and collaboration with other Greek Letter Organizations in promoting and sponsoring arts and letter events. Special efforts are made to support the work of Deltas in the varying areas of the arts and entertainment.
