On Friday, April 11, 2025, more than 40 Sorors of the Middletown (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. gathered for an evening dedicated to fellowship, reflection, and reconnection duly named MAC Connections: Soror to Soror. Facilitated by the Reclamation and Retention Committee, serving as their Spring Retention activity. The event offered a space for Sorors to slow down and engage with one another in a warm, welcoming environment.
From the moment Sorors entered the room, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Hugs, laughter, and genuine conversation filled the space as everyone settled in. A delicious dinner and an array of desserts lovingly prepared by Soror Sybil, added a welcoming and personal touch.

The evening’s centerpiece was the “MAC Speed Dating” activity, designed to spark intentional dialogue across generations. Sorors were paired in small groups that included newer members, Delta Dears, and MAC Charter members. Through a series of guided prompts and specially designed questions, titled “The Nine Pearls,” Sorors reflected on their Delta journeys, shared meaningful experiences, and spoke about the impact of sisterhood in their lives. As the conversations unfolded, Sorors were invited to share some of their responses with the full group, which resulted in moments of laughter, tears, and heartfelt affirmations. These stories brought everyone closer and reminded all in attendance of the beauty found in vulnerability and shared experience.
It was particularly moving to witness the bonds formed between newer Sorors and the chapter’s Delta Dears and Charter Members. Their presence brought historical depth to the evening and a heartfelt reminder of the foundation on which the chapter stands and the responsibility to continue nurturing that legacy.

Raffles added an element of fun throughout the evening, with gift cards and prizes donated by the Reclamation and Retention Committee. However, the true prize was the sense of connection that deepened as the night went on. The event concluded with the Sister Swap, where Sorors exchanged Delta paraphernalia with one another. Each item, whether gifted or received, carried personal meaning, and the exchange added a sentimental close to an already meaningful gathering.
The Middletown (DE) Alumnae Chapter extends sincere thanks to every Soror who attended and helped create such a memorable evening. MAC Connections: Soror to Soror was more than a moment. It was a reflection of what makes this chapter’s sisterhood so special. The event was met with overwhelmingly positive remarks from attendees, and the chapter looks forward to hosting it again at the upcoming Chapter Retreat.
